1. Mature, caring individual who enjoys working with people, offering quality care while promoting the concept of independent living.
  2. Writing and comprehension skills necessary for the maintenance of required written records and the ability to follow individual plans.
  3. Excellent verbal communication and listening skills.
  4. Ability to prepare well balanced and attractively presented meals as well as the ability to create and follow menus and individualized diets as required.
  5. Good housekeeping, cleaning skills.
  6. Valid driver’s license
  7. Use of an appropriately licensed/insured vehicle.
  8. Willing to do shift work.
  9. Willing to take training in VPA, NVCI, First Aid, Medication Administration or any training deemed necessary.
  10. Must attain satisfactory clearance of the Criminal Record/Adult Abuse Registry Check.
  11. Preference will be given to candidates that have the Developmental Service Worker and/or Post Secondary Education in Human Development or experience working with people who have a mental disability.
